Pumpkin Patch and Halloween 2013

This year we visited Bob's Corn and Pumpkin Farm. Over the past few years we've visited quite a few different pumpkin patches but we all agreed that this was the best one yet!
We ran through the corn maze, visited the animals, drank fresh pressed cider, ate fresh corn on the cob, and picked our pumpkins from the patch.

It was a themed Halloween! We had Batman, Robin, and Two-face. After dinner at Red Robin we went to the Farm at Woods Creek which is a housing development near us. The houses are all built very close together so after only 1 hour we covered lots of ground and the boys collected plenty of candy. They were so proud of their loot!

Braces!

On October 28th 2013 Griffen had his first set of braces put on. Griff was more excited than nervous. He couldn't wait to see how they would look with bands in his favorite colors, orange and black.
This is the start of a 2 part journey in braces. This first set will be on for approximately 12-14 months and then around the age of 13-15 Griff will receive his second set.
He has done an amazing job brushing and flossing, which isn't easy to do around all of that metal. Dr. Max showed him a picture of what teeth will look like after braces if he does a poor job brushing. He is very worried about getting holes in his teeth so I don't forsee an issue on keeping up with good oral hygiene.

A Birthday Party for Knox and Trig

To celebrate Trig's 1st birthday and Knox's 3rd birthday we did a small joint party. Nana and Papa Vaughn, Aunt Jessie, and Grandma and Papa Demiter came to visit and celebrate with us.

Knox is 3!

Knox helped himself to ice cream for breakfast!

Knox is Daddy's little "mini-me" and they are like 2 peas in a pod. He wants to go everywhere daddy goes and do everything that daddy does. It is amazing to watch how quickly he learns by watching others. He loves to read and each night we have to go through at least 2-5 books before he goes to sleep. Knox's favorite things include tractors and big trucks. He could be in the middle of a melt-down, see a tractor, and perk right up! He has a shirt with a tractor and shirt with a monster truck on the front. When both shirts are dirty it is bad news and a lot of coaxing is needed for him to wear something else.
Knox is very strong willed and wants to do everything himself. He won't allow anyone to assist him until he asks for help. He is extremely independent and we love him for his personality! He is ball of fire and keeps us on our toes at all times!

Trig is 1!

Today I am 1! I am sweet, cuddly, happy little guy. I continue to eat anything and everything including sour and spicy foods. My mom and dad hope that giving me such a variety will keep me from being a picky eater. I'm still nursing but also love raw milk. My favorite toys are my felt animals but I will play with anything you give me. I still crawl everywhere and do a great job walking around furniture but no steps yet. We are working on sign language because I love to scream when I want something. I am 28.5 inches long and 16 lbs. 14oz. The doctor says I'm still pretty small but I'm sure I will catch up!
