Griffen's 2nd Grade Christmas Program

The Polar Express

Each Christmas season the Polar Express runs from North Bend to Snoqualmie for a visit with Santa. When I heard this I knew I had to take the boys. What I didn't know was that the train sells out very quickly. I was finally able to find tickets on craigslist for the family. We were passengers on the final train of the season. We all had a great time on the train and the boys loved visiting Santa!

Christmas Tree cutting 2012

We searched for about 30 minutes for the perfect tree at Farmer Brown's Tree Farm. After the beaming ray of light came down on the most amazing tree Griffen and Matt went to work to cut it down. Luckily Matt brought along the sawzall just in case the hand saw couldn't do the job. My men, big and little, did a fantastic job! This 9 footer was a beauty!

Back on the court

Basketball season is now under way! Griffen is doing great this year and is really beginning to understand the game. I can't believe the difference in his skill level from last year to this year. There has been a great improvement, especially in his defensive skills.

Thanksgiving 2011

Griffen was home for Thanksgiving so we traveled to Richland to spend Thanksgiving with the Demiter's. There was a wonderful spread of food, a Thanksgiving day backyard football game with the cousins, plenty of laughter, and a good time had by all.

The Winds of Change

On 10/20/11 the Demiter's joined the minivan club. We traded in the Ford Escape along with Matt's Harley and bought a Honda Odyssey. I have always been anti-minivan and swore that I would never drive one.....now I'm eating my words. Admittedly the van is comfortable and has plenty of space for the whole family. A recent trip to Ikea was much more enjoyable without the worry of determining how we would shove our purchase into the back of a small SUV. Thank goodness for Minivans! P.S. When the kids are older I will be trading this baby in and getting an SUV. LOL

It was a Monster Bash!

Knox turned 1 and for his first birthday we decided to have a Monster Bash birthday party! Friends from church and the neighborhood came and celebrated with us.
Matt did a great job in preparing the food and helping me get the cupcakes done. Knox loved every minute of eating his furball monster cupcake, actually I think everyone must have liked them because there evidence of frosting all over the floor!
Knox opened each gift with excitement and loved all of the wonderful presents that were given to him. He favorites seem to be a remote airplane that Abby, from next door, gave to him and the pirate ship from Grammy Donna.

The following weekend we drove to Richland so that we could have a mini celebration with all of the Demiters!

What a wonderful 1st birthday for such a special boy!

Lake Stevens Peewee Purple Vikings

This was Griffen's first year playing football. For the past 4 seasons he has played soccer but decided to change it up a bit this year. He played both offense and defense this year but says that he would prefer to play quarterback because he never gets the ball. Maybe next year he will have the chance to try another position but this year he is just enjoying using those shoulder pads to run into guys!
