We made it through Kindergarten!

Griffen's last day of Kindergarten was on Friday 6/11/2010. He was so proud and made this comment...."I am excited for 2 things, 1. I made it past Kindergarten and 2. I am having a baby brother".
To celebrate the completion of Kindergarten his class had an end of the year BBQ which was a lot of fun. We made sure to exchange contact information with the other parents so that we can organize get-togethers this summer for the kids.
He made huge strides this year in math, science, and reading. I can already see that Griffen is going to excel in the areas of math and science. This was apparent when he was 2 1/2 and insisted that all things built with legos had to be symmetrical. Reading has been more difficult for him so we are working very hard this summer and hope that he will be able to read "easy readers" by the beginning of the new school year. We even went to the library and signed up for their summer reading program. If Griffen meets his goal he will get a gold fish! He really enjoys reading but I can see that the prize is what he has his eye on.

Memorial Day 2010

Memorial Day is always a toss up when it comes to the weather. We were hoping for plenty of sunshine but were given showers and 58 degrees. Although the weather was cruddy Griffen and I made the trip up to the family property at Lake Tyee. We arrived around 1pm and gathered up the fishing rods and tackle. I watched a youtube video before leaving to ensure that I could tie a hook. It looked good enough but unfortunately the line that we were using was old so it kept breaking. Griffen had just as much if not more fun catching tad poles as he did with the actual fishing. We headed back up to the lot and I started a fire in the pit, Matt would have been so proud! We couldn't leave the property without roasting a few smores.....they were perfect for the dreary day. I was able to relax a little and read a book while Griffen played with his toys that we keep at the trailer. Although the weather wasn't perfect the day turned out well and like always we enjoyed our time at the property.

Is it a boy or a girl?

We were so excited to find out what's been cookin on June 3rd. Matt and I were able to have a 20 week ultrasound. The baby looked great with all arms, legs, fingers, toes, and organs. Of course we were happy to find out that we had a healthy baby. The tech asked if we wanted to know the sex and before she completed the sentence I said "yes!". This baby is unmistakably a boy! His name has already been chosen......Knox Anton Demiter. I couldn't wait to share the news with our family and close friends. The best phone call was to Griffen. Matt got on the phone and told Griffen that he was going to have a baby brother. Griffen's response was a loud "YES!" in the phone. He was so excited and I know that even though they will be 6 years apart they will build a great bond as brothers. Only 5 months to go until we meet this little sweetie!
